Hi everyone this is my article sent to street chic magazine!!

Hi everyone, My first model name’s Roxanne. She’s 18 years old and is attend to Dawson College and she aspires to be a psychologist. She loves animals and hanging out with her friends. Also, she’s very creative and outgoing person. She has a big heart and really loves helping others. This amazing girl has a style that I love because it’s simple and cute. She’s wearing a gray tee-shirt with some black little spots everywhere on her shirt. For her pants, she has blue denim pants with two holes that she created. She has white vans with a pink sole. Her bag is really big so it’s convenient. It’s brown and really nice.  She also has some sunglasses that are orange with some brown in it. For her bracelet, it’s a Pandora one and it’s just gorgeous. They were no designer exactly found for her outfit. Her shirt is from Urban Planet and it was on sale at 10$. Her jeans were from Ardene at 20$. For her Vans, it was from the Vans’ store and they were 75$. Her purse was from Bizou and it was 40$. Her sunglasses were from Aldo and they were 15$. For her Pandora, the most expensive thing of her outfit is between 1500$ and 2000$.I found her in the street close to a park. The street’s name is Comtois. I really liked her style!

My second model’s name is Alexanne. She’s a student from the Collège St-Sacrement. She’s 14 years old and she’s a dancer. She’s dancing since she’s 6 years old and still love it. She’s in a troupe and with her colleagues, they won a national competition. She’s also playing the piano for a year now and she did a concert of three songs that she’s playing. She’s really loyal to her friends and she keeps every secret for herself. She also describes her as funny, funny and she does not care about what other people think about her. The outfit that she’s wearing is really comfy and also really simple. Alexanne is wearing a white and red lined camisole. Her camisole is from Garage and it’s about 15$ because it was on sale. She’s also wearing a pair of blue shorts that she bought at Stitches and it cost 25$. She’s also wearing a black jacket with some white lines at the bottom of the jacket and at the bottom of the sleeves. She found her jacket at Suzy Sheer and it cost 25$. None of her clothes have a designer but even there she does have style. I found her when I was walking in the Lyon street. I fell in love with her style so I decided to choose her as a second model!

For my last model, I had a little hesitation because when I did not take the picture in the street because I found her in a Garage but I liked her style too much so that’s why I’ m still writing about her style. So, her name is Jenny She describes her as a simple girl who likes fashion but easy fashion. She really likes to put herself together with beautiful clothes and accessories. She’s listening to her friends and she does not ask much. She’s generous and has a sense of detail. I Liked her style because it’s really cute and refreshing. For the top, she’s wearing a vermillion blouse that is open at the bottom of the back. Her blouse is from Bestseller and it cost 15$. She’s also wearing a jeans jacket that is from Garage and the price was 50$. For the bottom, she’s wearing some legging that is also from Garage and cost 25$ For her shoes she’s wearing some Michael Kors sandals that are amazing and they cost about 62$ This girl has a designer and of course it is Michael Kors. Like I said before I found her in the Garage on the Moody Boulevard. I loved her style and I’m glad I met her!

First things first, I’m not talking about my region because I’m not in it. So that’s why I’m talking about my favorite place in Daytona Beach. Anyway, Daytona is for me like a second home because I have a condo there, I know this place really well.

The place I would pass my life, the place where I belong is the beach. Daytona Beach’s beach. First, I need to talk about the sand. The sand at this place is so soft, you can’t imagine how. It’s like putting your feet in some soft baby powder. He’s also super hot so when you’re walking in it’s just amazing. Being there is just satisfying. The perfect sand, these big and beautiful waves, the warm sun and of course the marvelous perfume of the sea. Walking there is a relief. Seeing all those beautiful things and taking some long walks to go to the pier, where you can see dolphins and pelicans are so beautiful.  When you’re going in the water don’t forget to bring your board to be rocked and to bring back towards the sea. A thing I also really like to do when I’m at the beach is reading. Yes, I know by doing this I’m not looking at the beautiful sea but when I’m reading I can relax and listen to the beautiful music that the waves are making. I also like to tan there because the sun is so warm that you just want to lay down and never get up.

When you’re taking these long walks you can arrive at the pier and the boardwalk of Daytona Beach. This boardwalk is so beautiful! There’s a turquoise color everywhere. You can walk there and admire the waves that are way bigger there, also the smell is a lot more strong but so good. If you go under the boardwalk, you can see the clam shells glued at the bottom of the boardwalk poles. If you’re lucky you can also see some jellyfishes. They’re so gorgeous. This place is simply splendid. This place is made for the people who just want to relax or think about everything and even anything. Just being there is like being the ocean. When the night falls there’s an amusement park called Joyland that is all in the spotlight on the beach. There’s a lot of games, attractions, funnel cakes that are so delicious, well food, stores, and a lot of joy.

Joyland is an amusement park where screams, laughs, and fun is always there. There’s a

lot of roller coasters that are super fun to do. There are a great wheel, a slingshot, and a lot more attractions.  There’s also some restaurant that is really good like the Crabby Joe’s and other little restaurants. In these little ones, you can buy some fast food and most important thing is the funnel cakes. It’s so delicious, it’s a cake made of batter that is then fried until it’s crispy and served with sugar. There’s also some volleyball field there. It’s really nice to look at the competitions and to encourage the players. Joyland is really a magical place to go if you want to have fun on the beach.

The beach is the place where I can relax and think about anything. I feel completely free and I’m enjoying every second of it. I like it because you’re so little compared with the sea. It’s so wide and deep that you’re very little when you’re there. The ocean is hiding so many secrets and that’s something I’m curious about. Being in the arms of the water hiding everything can be scary but for me, it’s only fabulous and that’s the beauty of it. The beach is simply my happy place.

Hi, everyone! I know I didn’t post for a moment and I’m sorry. I was in a rush of exams and I was really stressed about it. I studied a lot and between I had a show and a competition that I’m going to talk about later. For the exams, the notes are out and I’ve passed them all with a good note. Now that the stress is gone I can breathe and relax a little bit more but I’ve got a lot to do. I’m organizing something that I’m going to talk about in another post.

It’s now been three weeks but I had a show. I was singing a duo with one of my friend name Brandon. I also had a solo that I didn’t mess up but I forgot some lyrics in the middle of the song, oops… At the end, I was happy with my performance.

My competition was about baseball. I was doing the ”Défi triple jeu” . It’ s a competition of throwing the ball at a target, hitting the ball the farthest as possible and about running in the less time possible. I won the silver medal. It means that I’m going to the regionals that are July the 8. I’m super excited for it.

If you have any questions don’t be shy to contact me or just leave a comment and I’ll answer. First of all, I want to thank my mom because it’s because of her that I’m in this pageant.

The Official Sponsors

Why them?

Before each show, Rimmel London takes care of Daphnee’s makeup.  Marc Jacobs and Jeanne Lottie are also sponsors. At the end of each show, a person in the audience will have the chance to win a Jeanne Lottie purse if she can guess which outfit was the most economic.

Why would they be interested?

Daphnee’s closet would proudly advertize these three brand names and they would get time to air their commercials before and after the show. Also, Jeanne Lottie handbags will be selling like crazy and DSC viewers will be flocking to Marc Jacobs stores.

Why should you watch it?

Daphnee’s Smart Closet is a great show where you’ll be taught  how you can be fashionable without making a big hole in your wallet! If you watch DSC, you will be able to compare high fashion clothing with normal, cheap clothing and see what is truly worth spending for. Notre-Dame-des-Prairies

Last June 10th, I participated at the 4th edition of the Relay for Life in Notre-Dame-des-Prairies, Quebec. I built my own team of eight members for the occasion: Miss Teen Lanaudiere. Me and my team walked twelve hours and we raised 2471$ for the Canadian Cancer Society. Not only did I wear my crown and sash for the occasion but I also got to go on stage and say a few words about how I wanted to get involved in my community.

It was extremely surprising to see so many people either fighting against cancer or who survived cancer. There were also thousands of lanterns to enlight the whole path. Each and every one of them was lit to honor a cancer patient. The Relay was started by the Survivors’ Walk which was very moving. Many activities and music animated the night. I had a blast with my team, which was mainly my mother, my aunt, my grandparents, my friends and my boyfriend.

The NDP Relay raised over 200 000$ with the help of its 70 teams. Next year, I will definitely be participating again!

With my boyfriend, after walking the whole night!

About Free The Children

Free The Children was founded in 1995 by Craig Kielburger, an an international child rights activist. The main goal of the organization is to free children from poverty and exploitation. Free The Children also wants to spread the word that young people around the world can make a positive difference. More than one million youth are involved in FTC’s education and development programs throughout 45 different countries. Free The Children has received many awards such as the World’s Children’s Prize for the Rights of the Child, the Human Rights Award and has formed successful partnerships with leading school boards and Oprah’s Angel Network, as mentioned on the Free The Children website.

Free The Children has built more than 650 schools and school rooms around the world and has reached more than one million young people through outreach in North America.

One of their corporate partners: Air Canada’s Kids Horizons

Air Canada works with hundreds of charities and non-profit organizations. Being partners with Free The Children, Air Canada proudly provides air transportation for ill and less wealthy children’s dreams to come true. Kids’ Horizons’ main goal is to make a difference and to offer various programs for sick Canadian children.

Here are a couple of Kids’ Horizons main initiatives:

Every Bit Counts

This is a change collection program where change can be collected on board Air Canada flights and in several different airports, but mainly in Maple Leaf Lounges. It is a small and easy way to make a huge difference in children’s lives.

Wings of Courage

Every month at the SickKids and BC Children’s hospitals, Air Canada pilots read stories to ill children. At the end, honorary pilot certificates and courage medals are given to the children.

There are two more initiatives: One child and Closest to the pin. To read more about them: Visit their website!

I believe Kids’ Horizons is an amazing program and I think (I know!) they make a big difference. The cause of sick children is very important to me, because I lost a cousin of young age to cancer many years ago, and it is still difficult for me to understand that nothing could’ve cured him. Luckily, charities like Kids’ Horizons and Free The Children help many children every year, either by making their dreams come true or by donating money to hospitals.

Soon, I will publish posts about how I raised money for Free The Children and about my participation in the Relay for Life.
